Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Students,
I hope that you all had a good weekend.
I am emailing you to alert you to the fact that the next few weeks in particular will be busy and so therefore it is important that you are prepared for them.
So, please note the following dates:
Monday September 26th: TY 2 Sailing.
Tuesday September 27th: TY 1 Work Experience.
                                                           TY 3 Sailing.
Wednesday September 28th: All TY students travelling to Treacy’s West County Hotel Ennis for Enterprise Workshop. Full school uniform must be worn. Bring a copy and pen.
Bus departs school at 8.15 a.m. sharp. Returns to school before last class.
Students will be fed at the hotel on the day.
Thursday September 29th and Friday September 30th: All TY students in Birr Outdoor Education Centre for Orientation and Team building Activities.
All permission forms and medical forms must be returned to Mr. O’ Brien by this Wednesday morning. Failure to do so may mean you will not be allowed to travel.
It is of the utmost importance that you inform me if you are not going to Ennis or to Birr. Transporting 72 students involves the hire of a coach plus a mini-bus. If the numbers drop or students choose not to go, this can result in the cost increasing for those who are travelling plus forfeiting the cost of the activities involved. As we aim to provide good value for your TY Fees and ‘it is your money’ if we know our figures in sufficient time we can try to make a saving which could enable us to make your fees stretch that bit further and therefore you gain further too! Please keep this in mind throughout the year!

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
  1. All Forms For Birr Must Be Returned to Mr. O’ Brien correctly filled in by Wednesday Morning.
  2. Please keep the last page of the Birr Information in a safe place at home, In Case of Emergency.
  3. Gaisce Forms should be returned to Ms. Kearney asap.
  4. The final instalment of TY Fees is due by Friday Sept. 30th. We respectfully ask that all fees are settled by then or as close to this as possible. As TY activities depend on fees collected and sometimes require deposits to be paid by the school in advance, the punctual payment of fees is appreciated.
  5. Again, please keep us informed of any intended absences so we can keep accurate attendance records for your son/daughter and keep in mind the impact on activities scheduled or planned , bus costs etc.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation.

Looking forward to many rewarding experiences in the next few weeks,

Brendan O’ Brien.

TY Co-ordinator.
