Success at the Clare County Enterprise Finals

St Anne’s reap the awards with success at the Clare County Enterprise

The student enterprise competition runs every year by the LEO and is open to students in three different categories Junior, Intermediate and Senior. This year students in TY mini company and all second years business students created products for the annual Christmas trade fair.

These students who represented the school in the county final over the past two days have done a lot of work over the past few months to prepare for the event.

Awards on the day

Overall two second year groups were awarded Best Sales and Best Innovation. The Senior group a musical moment won Best Innovation.

This is a great achievement but everyone who took part showed great entrepreneurial skills and they will continue to grow their products for next year.

The passing of Sr. Ethel Normoyle of Missionvale Care Centre, Port Elizabeth, South Africa

It is with deep sadness that we learned today of the death of Sr. Ethel Normoyle of Missionvale Care Centre, Port Elizabeth, South Africa and formerly of Lissycasey Co. Clare.
Sr. Ethel touched and transformed the lives of many and St. Anne’s Community College Killaloe is proud to have been just a very small part of that story.
We extend our sincere condolences to Sr. Ethel’s family, the people of Missionvale, the Little Company of Mary, and all her relatives and friends.
We pray for the happy repose of Sr. Ethel’s soul, we remember her and give thanks for her life’s work.

Finn heading to Toyko representing Ireland
Team Ireland has officially named the swimmers who will represent our country in #Tokyo2020 and we are beyond excited that our very own Finn McGeever is amongst those 9 selected.
Finn will be part of the first Olympic relay for Ireland in 49 years and the first ever men’s relay.
Years of hard work and dedication leads to a day like today and we couldn’t be more proud and we couldn’t be happier for Finn, his family, his swim coaches and teammates.
🇮🇪 Four more Irish athletes jetting off for Tokyo 2020 this morning!
Today’s it’s the turn of Jack McMillan, Finn McGeever, Ellen Walshe and Brendan Hyland 💪
Ireland’s biggest ever Olympic aquatic team will soon all be in Japan 🇯🇵 We are nearly there!
Please share good vibes 👇
Sending Love to Sr. Ethel

Light and love to Sr. Ethel and her family at this time. May she find the comfort and rest she deserves and needs with her family in Dublin. Sending her all our strength and prayers. God speed.

In our shared love and admiration for Sister Ethel and with heartfelt gratitude for all she has done for so many, it is with great sadness that we share the news that Sister Ethel was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. Not one to ever draw attention to herself, she has opted to receive palliative care near her family and as such is quietly traveling to Dublin.
It is now up to us to continue her legacy and, being the visionary she is, she has prepared us well for it. We will take our guidance from her values of gratitude, accountability, compassion and unconditional love. It is her biggest concern that the care for those who are most vulnerable will continue and we are fully committed to ensuring that Sister Ethel’s good work will continue to live on for many years to come.

New school crest for St. Anne’s Community College

Dear School Community…. WE NEED YOU 👉🏼

We are looking to develop a and it is hoped to involve all members of our school community in the design of this emblem.

We hope that this new crest would tell the story of our school’s history, from its Mercy and VEC beginnings, to the fabulous LCETB facility that we enjoy today.
We hope that it would encompass all our school is about, the culture, the ethos, and that it would be a symbol of the values we espouse and of course our place in the wider community of our twin towns.

We would love to see as many entrants as possible in this whole school endeavour to get as many varied and artistic ideas of what the school crest would mean to everyone in our school community. This is open to our local community, past pupils, artists, primary schools etc.
